Friday, November 30 - Freeman Dre & The Kitchen Party, Rattlesnake Choir w. DJ Crossfade - $5

This is Going to Be Really, Really Good!

Last week, your friendly website updater caught Freeman Dre & The Kitchen Party opening for Jerry Leger at his CD release gig at the Great Hall.  They were really, really good.  This is probably one of the gigs that I've been looking forward to the most on my calendar, and please, do yourselves a favour and come check it out.  I promise that you won't be dissapointed.

Freeman Dre & The Kitchen Party

Voted 'Best Songwriter' by NOW in 2010, Freeman Dre brings a unique, distinctly Canadian sound to his rootsy songs.  Equal parts Country, Rock, Gospel and Folk, his music is as heavy as his lyrics, and to be blunt, really freakin' good.  If you like Steve Earle or Fred Eaglesmith, then do yourself a favour, come on down to 3030 and see what I think will be your next favourite musician.

Rattlesnake Choir

Kicking off the night, is Toronto's Rattlesnake Choir.  Those of you who stumbled into their old weekly gig at the Communists Daugher, know these guys can play and sing, more than just a little.

All this for only Five Bucks?  Are you guys crazy?

Probably.  However, we also want to believe that if we bring great, live independent music to the Junction, that the neighbourhood will respond, and appreciate what we're trying to do.  I know in these tough economic times, that money is really tight, but for less money than going to see a movie on cheap tuesday, you get to catch two great bands, and in between sets, DJ Crossfade will be spinning some great albums to keep your toes tappin.  So come on down, we think you'll be glad you did.

If you really like football, you probably have a favourite team from the National Football League or two and have a list of players who like to have noticed.
