December, snow, stout and good cheer (not to mention awesome food!)
We've got ourselves a big week in the Junction, so settle in and get yourself a coffee if you're reading this in the morning (I recommend the following Amani Earles, Locomotive, Full Stop and Crema), or a great local pint if it's past
eleven a.m. the afternoon (in which case I recommend you head down to Hole in the Wall or Indie Ale House...or you know, us).
First off, I want to take a couple of moments to tell you to check out Humble Beginnings. I know I'm a bit late to the party on this one, as they opened at the end of August, but if you're looking for a great place to grab a healthy, wholsesome bite, make the trek a little further down Dundas, and give it a try.
All The Good Stuff We've Got Going On This Week - And Some Good Stuff Elsewhere Too!
It's going to be a busy week at 3030, so whatever your 'thing' is, we're pretty confident that we've got you covered. And if we don't have your 'thing' going on, I'll tell you about some other cool stuff going down this week as well.
Each and every Wednesday (unless indicated otherwise), it's @3030Trivia. Our intrepid host Anthony has just confirmed that he'll be on Jeopardy on December 25th, so if you want to meet a real life celebrity before he was famous, you've only got a few weeks left to do so.
There's a whole bunch of stuff happening here on Thursday. In the front, beginning around 6pm, we've got the first December Installment of the #KitchenBattle, this week featuring Chris from 416 Snack Bar. Everything on the battle menu is five bones, so it's a great way to try all sorts of wild culinary creations.
Rough Draft of the Menu - Stay Tuned for the Final Version - Posted Thursday
In the back, we've got Winnipeg electro band, Hana Lulu rolling into town, and you can get somemore details on the show right here, or read some really good press that they got from their Windsor stop a few days ago.
Then on Friday, it's Soul Time! with the Soul Motivators as part of the OH16 Soul Presents... series brought to you by Amsterdam Brewing.
Now let's say that soul music isn't your vibe, and you want to catch one of the best up and coming bands in the city, release their latest album. Well then head on down to the Silver Dollar, to catch Pkew Pkew Pkew (Gunshots). Trust me, this band is legit.
How can you not want an album with a cover this cool. Get 2, one for your turntable and one for your wall.
Finally, on Saturday, we've got the final 2013 installment of #MetropoleTO, brought to you by McAuslan-St. Ambroise. Check out The Medicine Hat, Ernie Coombs & DJ Julia Smith. Also, if you're in town this week and weekend, it's the One of a Kind Christmas Show, and the really nice dude who allows me to use his graphics for these posters is selling shirts there. If you are there, go say hi to Joern @ Tres Normale.
