Saishubi is a band of six Toronto boys making music for the sake of music, art and the world around us. In these times, it's easy to forget why music is important to the world, but Saishubi aims to answer that question in their own way. Here, it's all about connection and The Search for meaning. Known for their high-energy live performances, the band is an invigorating experience that only wants to excite people and open their minds!
Saishubi is a hardworking, passionate band that is constantly trying to push their own boundaries as well as the boundaries of those listening. Saishubi was born in 2014 when leader Sam Pomanti put a group of six very skilled, very tasteful musicians together. Saishubi can be found playing at venues in Toronto such as the Drake Underground, The Orbit Room, the Cameron House and the Rivoli to name a few. The band has already accomplished a lot in its short life so far. An early incarnation of the band opened for Motown icons The Commodores and recorded with legendary engineer/producer Al Schmitt, to begin with. Saishubi just finished their first album and first music video in July 2015, and is very excited to share them with Toronto and lands beyond. The band had a very busy Summer this year of playing around at music festivals in Ontario, such as the International Beaches Jazz Festival Streetfest, Pan Am Stage, Jazz on the Mountain at Blue, Newmarket Jazz Festival and more. The band is full of energy directed towards bringing new, exciting music to you all the time. Stay tuned...
