The High Standards Quartet is a brand new band featuring four bright lights on the
Canadian jazz scene.
This project is spearheaded by JUNO-nominated bandleaders bassist Jodi Proznick and
pianist Amanda Tosoff under the umbrella of their music education company, Music Arts
Collective.
This duo joins forces with two rising stars, clarinetist Virginia MacDonald (2020 International
Clarinetist Corona Competition winner) and vocalist Laura Anglade (one of the “top 5 female
jazz musicians to watch out for” – Ici Musique).
The quartet will embark on a short Western Canada tour this February and play at Toronto’s
Hugh’s Room Live in April, accompanied by various drummers from across Canada such as
Sanah Kadoura (Calgary), Jesse Cahill (Vancouver), Kelby McNair (Victoria) and Morgan
Childs (Toronto).
Join High Standards for a night of scintillating arrangements of songs from the Great
American Songbook, as well as their own original compositions.
We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
